IHBC features ‘Heritage from the (council) doorstep 1’: South Staffs notified of postponement of Crooked House Enforcement Notice public inquiry
South Staffordshire Council has received notification from the Planning Inspectorate that they have accepted the appellants’ (ATE Farms) request to postpone the Crooked House Enforcement Notice public inquiry which was due to be held this summer.

IHBC features ‘Heritage from the (council) doorstep 2’: Greenfields recreation land bought back by Shrewsbury Town Council for the community
A piece of land in Shrewsbury formerly earmarked for housing will soon be able to be enjoyed by the community once again after being bought back by the Town Council.

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and Minister for Industry and Economic Security have brought together leaders from across the construction industry to sign up to ‘Five Client Carbon Commitments’ – pledges which will help the sector to achieve Net Zero.

A new report for Policy Exchange, on ‘Tall Buildings: A Policy Framework for Responsible High-Rise and Better Density’, argues that the unplanned proliferation of tall buildings has not delivered the housing Britain needs and calls for a more responsible approach to urban density.

Trinity research on Valentia Slate results in its designation as a Heritage Stone
The natural stone, Valentia Slate, only occurs in Co. Kerry and which has been used since at least 1816, has recently been awarded the Status of ‘International Union of Geological Sciences Heritage Stone’, a coveted award exclusive to stones with a long history of significant use and still available for conservation purposes.

Clarice Cliff, 20th century ceramicist known for colourful designs, honoured in Blue Plaque Scheme, Design category
From teenage factory girl to one of the most recognised ceramic designers of the 20th century, the success story of Clarice Cliff (1899 to 1972) is rooted in the heart of the Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent and a Blue Plaque has been erected by Historic England under the category of design at 20 Snow Hill, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST1 4LT to honour her work.
